Writing a story, dancing, freestyle, where does it come from? When I'm in the flow of it, I might be tempted to stop and think, is this really coming from me? But I don’t stop. Because I know that to stop and think is to halt the flow. It’s to lose sight of the moment. It’s to fall back onto my seat, instead of taking a dynamic stand.
Painting a picture, climbing a cliff face, riding a motorcycle, there can be no stopping. There's staying engaged in the moment, and staying present to the flow of life. There’s no great mystery to flow. There’s attention, there’s focus, and there’s innocence.
I say innocence because there’s no agenda in flow. There’s only to keep at it. There’s to trust in the Muse and have faith in my sensing. When I'm undertaking these creative activities, I'm engaging my potential to act as a channel for Divine creativity. The content of this expression could never be anticipated, although the underlying message is always consistent: freedom is now.
We live free when we open up and channel our authentic expression as thoroughly as we are able. Freedom on this plane is a tad fickle. We all have different ideas of what the experience of freedom could or should be like, and often fantasize about obtaining it. More money, more time, more exposure, etc. But the surest way to experience freedom, is to give yourself the freedom of expression.
I practice this in play. In community. In close relationships. I want to share my authentic expression with you all. I want to practice until it feels so natural that I can barely remember it being any other way. And I appreciate your help along the way to my learning.
